You may or you may not be aware that there has been an earthquake of 5.9 magnitude in Bukoba Tanzania the biggest earthquake in this area for over 117 years. Bukoba is my home town and my immediate family live there. This happened on Saturday the 10th September and caused a great deal of destruction and 17 people are reported dead. Sadly lots of houses and many buildings have been destroyed or damaged beyond repair. For me just looking at different images posted on the internet I can see lots of places I know and recognise and this makes me really sad.
More significantly for me, my dad, who is 101 years old, his house has been damaged beyond repair! He lives with my sister and my niece with learning disabilities with her two boys. Therefore this is a difficult time for everyone in the village and the whole community.
Therefore I would like to ask you as a friend, family or someone who feels touched by this event if you can contribute financially towards the building cost.
As an estimation, it will probably cost around 45,000,000 Tanzania shillings to rebuild the house which is approximately £17,000. Kindly some people have already donated £8,060 of which we are grateful but we still need to collect £8,940. If I receive more donations than my family need I will ensure it is used to help other families. I will keep you informed of progress as things develop.
Thank you very much for your support

Thank you ever so much for your donation. Just to give you update, the foundation was completed two weeks ago and now you can see the progress made within this period. It is still a long way to go but the a big step has been made and this is because of your support. Without you this progress wouldn't have been possible. So I thank you all on behalf of my dad and the whole family. Please give any amount you can manage. A BIG thank you again
