To support the wider application for the National Lottery Heritage Funding project to restore the Charles Dickens Writing Chalet.

Once situated in Charles Dickens grounds of Gads Hill Place, the Chalet was used as Dickens personal writing space. In modern times the Chalet has been deteriorating over several decades in the grounds of the beautiful Eastgate House, in centre of historic Rochester, Kent, UK. Our aim is to revitalise this unique piece of local history and return it to being a cultural, educational and economic asset for the community and future generations.
