Story

An old friend of mine and a very dearly loved one to so many others, Alex, died far too young through accidental causes. Her death was sudden and was incredibly difficult for family and friends to process.

I ran some fundraising activity a few months after the accident and we put together a few beautiful commemorative gestures. We had a beautiful cherry blossom tree planted in one of her and her loved ones favourite parks and also an annual school award given to those that show the qualities we felt embodied her every year (for 10 years) at the LGGS annual Speech Day.

The maintenance for the tree came to an end in October 2018 after the 5 years we initially paid for with the charitable donations we got all those years ago.

This gave me the idea of combining something unbelievably worthy and in need of updating with a personal goal of mine, given it's such an incredibly good motivator to keep me going 😅. I'll be running the Manchester Half Marathon in May 2019 in memory of Alex Crossley. Dear daughter and sister, sorely missed niece, cousin and granddaughter and much loved friend to many.

Please spare what you can for such a beautiful girl who will forever live on in our hearts!
