Story
The entire World had a rough year in 2020 but some people had a particularly bad time - barely a month seemed to go by when I wasn't sending money to someone I knew who'd been diagnosed with cancer and needed help. I've lost people to cancer already and nearly lost a few more down the years. We all have a 1 in 3 chance of getting it one day.
Now, I'm not normally one for arbitrary challenges or number chasing, but when FATMAP created their "Objectif Mont Blanc" project - the goal of which is to ascend 4810 vertical metres (the height of Mont Blanc) - I figured I'd come up with a lockdown-friendly way of raising some money and give myself a much-needed challenge in the process.
I first ran up Bannister Lane in the late 1990's and with it only being a 10 minute jog from my parents' house, I've been up it 100s of times since. The ascent from the top of Jackson's Lane to the viewpoint by Hilldale Quarry is 48 vertical metres and on Friday 22nd January I did 100 laps of it, for a total of 4800 vertical metres and 85+ kms.
Here is the route I took -

I'm aiming to raise £4810.00 for Cancer Research UK so please dig deep and contribute if you can. Thank you.
