Story

I have been selected to represent Great Britain in the Underwater Hockey World Championships in the 'Under 24 Ladies division'. Having Previously been held in South Africa and Australia, it's now Great Britain's turn. The competition '2019' is to be held in Sheffield and I need help in raising the required funds for me to attend and compete with my team in the hopes of a GB medal...

Having started at the age of 12 eager to try a new, thrilling and difficult sport where i could prove that i could compete against the boys in my team I spent many years competing with my first team - Xarifa. Threw determination and relentless training we attained national and regional titles and appeared in two newspapers spreading information about the sport I love. At the age of 16 i joined my first all ladies team....

Together with these ladies we achieved a gold medal in the plate cup at my first tournament with them.

Underwater Hockey https://sheffielduwh2019.co.uk/ - A sport played at a depth of 3m with a weighted puck on the bottom of the pool where teams swim down to the bottom to play the game holding there breath, its origins, ensuring the fitness of deep sea divers, when weather prevents diving.

For two years I have been training and improving and I've succeeded. I am proud to be awarded the honour of representing my country. A place on the under 24's ladies team filled me with joy and great pride.

I'm determined to get there...

Having a passion for sport can be extremely expensive and a lack of funding should never stop someone from achieving their dream when they have been selected threw ability.

Thank you for reading, helping and sharing. Charlie x
