Story

I've known Olly's parents for about 10 years and can remember when their little man was born in 2012.

Olly was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy just after his second birthday.

DMD is a cruel muscle-wasting, life-shortening terminal condition for which at present there is no cure. On average children with DMD may need a wheelchair by the time they're 8-14 years old. By their mid-teens some people with DMD develop problems with their heart muscles and life expectancy is around mid-20's.

Olly's Fund was set up by Olly's parents, Karl and Jemma, to split money raised 60/40 to do two things:

1) raise funds for Olly so they can give him fond, happy memories, live life to the full and have the best possible care and equipment as he grows

2) raise funds for DMD research. The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign funds world-class pioneering research into potential treatments and cures for people with Muscular Dystrophy and related conditions.

We've had lots of fun times with Olly and his family and I want to try to help their cause.

I am going to run 3 marathons in 3 days on 6th, 7th and 8th October, 2017 finishing with the York marathon.

If you can spare anything, no matter how big or small, it would be massively appreciated.

Thanks for reading,

Charlie
