Story
We got Alfie back in may 2025. We did everything right, got insurance, signed up to pet plan at vets took him for his vaccines etc. Not long after we got him we noticed he was bleeding from the back end, turned out he had polyps up there which needed an operation to remove. Which we had done. Was warned they could grow back and potentially become cancerous. 2 months after this I’ve noticed bleeding again. On top of that he has now started drinking water excessively and has lumps on his neck that vets are concerned could be cancerous. So now they need to find out what’s happening inside by getting him a CT scan done, then depending what is found he may need a specialist vet to do operations. I’m so devestated because I got him covered for 3k, I thought this would be plenty for a 4 year old dog but apparently i was wrong, I should have got more. Now faced with the real danger we’re going to be priced out of being able to get him the care he needs which is so heartbreaking. I’m being quoted approx £2000 for the CT scan, sedation etc then god knows what is next. I really don’t want to loose my beautiful boy so before I give up hope I wanted to try everything I can to try raise the funds for what will go over the cover we have and can sort ourselves, and so we can just proceed with everything we need to asap. I have attached some screenshots of the emails from my vets explaining some of the costs of the issues he has.
There would be risks if we get this done it could come back again, but I don’t want to just give up on him without trying to get everything done for him at least once, he is only 4 and is such a wonderful boy, we love him dearly and really don’t want to loose him.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated. To be honest at this point I’m just guessing costs, I know it will be around 2k for the CT, and sedation then who knows what comes next, but have been told if it is cancer or he has more lumps further up his rear end it will require specialist surgery and bigger operations than before, the previous one was around 1500 so I’m just hoping this figure covers everything. The vet has mentioned ultrasound scans too as they are a bit cheaper but said the CT scan will pick up everything but ultrasound doesn’t so could potentially pay for something that won’t wield any results so best to go with the CT if we can.
Rest assured I have only a desire to save my boy, if we do not achieve the required amount for what’s required I will contact you to arrange a refund. If we do manage it I will provide updates so you can see his progress. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this, and if you do donate I am forever grateful to you ❤️💔😭
