Charlie’s Hockey Journey 🏒🥅✨
Charlie first picked up a hockey stick at just 5 years old, playing inline hockey, and by the time he was 8, he was already lacing up his skates for ice hockey. At the same age, he made a big decision – to become a goaltender. Even though it meant facing older and stronger players, Charlie quickly started playing games in the U13 category, showing just how determined and fearless he was.

Charlie proudly represents the U12s Junior Belfast Giants and U13s Bangor Chiefs, balancing two teams while giving 100% every time he steps onto the rink. He has a passion for goaltending and is always looking for ways to improve. Over the past three years, he has attended specialist goaltender camps to sharpen his skills and has had the opportunity to train alongside professional Belfast Giants goaltenders Andy Dickson and Jackson Whistle. He also represents Team Ireland.

Recently, Charlie’s hard work caught the attention of Toxic Hockey, who scouted him to take part in the prestigious Sparta X Kids Tournament in Barcelona. This international tournament brings together hundreds of the best young players from all over Europe and beyond, giving them the chance to test their skills, make lifelong friendships, and experience hockey at the highest level for their age. Out of all the young players, Charlie is the only one from Northern Ireland to be selected – a truly special achievement.

This opportunity is a dream come true for Charlie, and he’s working hard to make it a reality. His biggest dream is to one day become an NHL goaltender, and experiences like this bring him one step closer.
