    Story

The Charlesworth's Covid-19 Lockdown Isolation 500 Point Table Tennis 1-Match Challenge

Ellis and I have recently discovered Table Tennis and have played over 50 games since Lockdown commenced 5 weeks ago. As we head into our 6th week next week we thought given all the great creativity and all donations to the Coronavirus cause people have done, we thought we could do something to give a little back helping both the UK, and where we live here in Cyprus and at the same time combine it with our new found love of Table Tennis, but it will help us improve our games as well. In fact already we've learnt that since 2001 you play to 11 and not 21 and so when we discovered this we changed our gameplay as well. Since we've started playing to 11 Ellis has found a new found improvement :( and today (17th April) he beat me 5 games to 3!!! He actually won 3 games on the trot, he hasn't done this before and is just getting better and better. It isn't going to be long before i will be really struggling to beat him. Anyway when is the action: We are starting this 500 point match on Wednesday morning 22nd April 2020 at approximately 09.30am (Cyprus time). All we're asking if that if you are able you kindly donate to this great cause. Thank you in advance for your help, and support and hopefully encouragement. If the game byt the way doesn't last too long, or if we don't receive enough donations (in our view) then we may either continue or do another challenge to continue the sponsorship until we reach our £500 target. Charlie & Ellis. :)

Ellis and I are both in training. We played 8 games today and Ellis beat me 5-3!! He won 3 on the trot this morning as well! The scores were: 11-3, 7-11, 9-11, 9-11, 11-4, 7-11, 9-11 and i then won last game just! 15-13! A week ago i was very confident i would be the first to 500 points, now i'm not so sure, and as we continue to train, he's getting better and better!!
