Story
Hi everyone, yesterday I saw a post from a friend of mine who has been dealing with one thing after another recently. It made me so sad to see that a family who do so much for others are left in this position. Emma and Brian Burridge run the North East Homless charity (NEH): click link to read more about their work. While working tirelessly for the charity they are also working full time to look after Charlie, who requires round the clock care and regular hospital appointments.
Emma and Brian purchased a mobility vehicle themselves and just paid £700 to get it through it's MOT so that Charlie can be mobile, not only for her hospital visits but so that she can spend time out of the house with her brothers. Without the van not only is she housebound but so is one of her parents meaning that the family can't spend quality time together.
Yesterday a careless driver hit charlie's van and didn't stop. Luckily nobody was hurt but the Van has since been written off leaving the family in an unthinkable position, below is the post that i read:
"I’m sitting sorting out a feed pump and drawing all of Charlie’s multiple meds. This after having multiple discussions today about Charlie and having to put extra care and more consultants in place as she’s becoming more medically vulnerable, a woman in a white Mercedes decides it’s ok to plough into Charlie’s adapted van, which we bought out of our own money, and drive off.... So now not only is she more vulnerable than ever, we have no way of getting her to hospital in a rush other than 999."

£1500 is the minimum that it will cost for the adaptions to a new Van. please donate whatever you can to help a family who help so many others!
THANK YOU XX
