Story

Losing our son, Charlie, in a tragic accident in December 2021, was something previously beyond the realm of our imaginations. In the days and weeks that have followed, we have struggled to make sense of our loss, one that is permanent and life changing. Amongst the deepest of sadness was a growing sense of just how loved Charlie was, how many individuals had stories to tell about him and how many had been touched by his short life. From the depths of our grief, has arisen a determination to keep Charlie’s legacy alive.

We want a chance to create something good for young people living through the difficulties of growing up in today’s society. Making a difference to a child’s life through our own efforts and the support of the whole community would be something that would bring us great comfort.

Our aim is to help young people aged 14-19who are in need of support. We want to provide that support in a bespoke manner to suit their circumstances, be that through guidance, training, provision of services or access to a range of therapies. Our commitment is to make positive differences to young lives in the name of Charlie.

We as a family would like to take this opportunity to recognise everyone who has supported us since Charlie’s passing. We have been overwhelmed by the love and support that we have received, not only from those closest to us, but from our wonderful local community who have stood with us, literally, and in many other ways, in our darkest hours. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone for their support and hope that you will join us, on this next stage of our journey, creating the best of futures for local young people.
