I've raised £2000 to Raise money for a Cuddle Cot for St Mary’s Hospital Manchester in memory of Elouise-Hope

On the 5th june 2018 i went for my routine 20 week scan of our baby girl, we got the devastating news that our daughter had Anencephaly and that there is nothing they could do that would make her better. We had made the most heartbreaking decision of giving birth to her later that week. Had she gone full term it would of been unlikley for her to survive minutes or even hours. If she did survive there would of been serious illnesses she would of Had. We decided that was not a life she could of lived.
We had a follow up the same day from the fetal medicine unit consultant Who looked at Elouise and confermed the diagnosis and talked us through our options.
Anencephally is a serious birth defect in which affects 3 in every 10,000 pregnancys. It is where a babys skull hadnt formed properly. This happens if the upper part of the neutral tube does not close all the way, the remaining parts of the brain are often not covered by bone or skin. This could not of been prevented and is no ones fault if it does happen.
In the upcoming days that we decided that I would go into hospital to be induced. We went into hospital on the 8th June 2018. After days of being induced I give birth to my daughter Elouise-Hope on sunday 10th June 2018 at 9:16pm weighing 340Grams. I had our baby next to me until I was ready to go home and put Elouise into the care of the hospital until we had her funeral. I could go in and see her whenever I wanted until they took ger to the baby morturary.
I have decided to raise £2000 towards a cuddle cot which is around £1700 and the remaining £300 Towards memory boxes which they give to parents and towards wool for people to make little oultfits for our prem babies.
A cuddle cot is a cooling system which preserves deceaced babies while their parents grieve. It allowes the ability of bringing your baby home, it gives parents the option to spend quality time with their babies at home. Which is easing the grieving proces. It is easily cleaned so that multiple parents can use.
They cuddle cot will be purchased and the remaining money will be donated to St Marys Hospital Manchester
