Story

On Saturday 12th May, I will be taking part in this years Born Survivor in Manchester. I have decided to use this opportunity to help raise money for "Bee Happy 2gether" and organisation set up by the lovely Marie, mum to Millie, who was badly scarred both physically and mentally after the Manchester Arena attack last year. Every penny I manage to raise will go into helping Marie create this support network and hold activities in order to help bring those effected together.

This charity is something I feel very passionate about and understand the importance of on another level so really do appreciate you all take the time to read the below and sponsor me for this event ❤️

Marie has sent me some words to share... "Bee Happy 2gether C.I.C has been founded by myself, Marie Robson after my own daughter Millie, was seriously injured in the Manchester Terror attack in May 2017. We live in Newton Aycliffe, Co Durham.

I wanted to use my experience both professionally and personally to create a support network for young people affected by trauma and/or post-traumatic stress disorder.

I have over 25 years’ experience in healthcare and have worked on several community health projects throughout my career and felt that I wanted to do something for young people that brought them together to take part in various activities in a safe and supported way whilst having peer support from others who understand.

Activities will include exercise, sport, arts & crafts, confidence building workshops, music, days out, horse riding, bowling, mindfulness, cookery etc.

Bee Happy 2gether C.I.C will provide volunteer opportunities for young people wanting to provide peer support to others. All training and support will be given to all volunteers.

Bee Happy 2gether C.I.C will be very much member led and everyone will have a voice. We already receiving so much interest from young people and families who are affected by various traumatic events such as abuse, bullying, accidents, bereavement etc."

Thank you in advance for your donations, it really does mean the world to me and will make such a difference to so many people who really need it at such a tough time in their lives. Love will always win 🐝💕
