I've raised £5000 to Charlotte East for Bristol Old Vic Theatre School - 2 year FdA course!

Hello you lovely lot,
Thank you for clicking on this post! This is not something that I ever thought I would find myself doing, but as my father always said “Charlie, just keep knocking on those doors. If you don‘t ask (politely) darling, you will never get!” As I am definitely my fathers daughter, I am going to ask and hope!
So the story? After 3 years at an amazing University (UCLan - University of Central Lancashire) and a first class degree in ’Acting’, I ventured into the industry. After 3 years of working, I’m still no closer to a CV titled with a BIG job! I honestly believe that I have tried everything I can to achieve my goals set for each new year. I did a short course in ’Shakespeare’ at LAMDA to improve my CV, I made sure my showreel was always up to date (often working for free to make sure I had new scenes), I changed my headshots (6 times in 3 years), worked on small projects for very little or no pay with the hope of being seen. But alas, I am still no closer.. Now don’t get me wrong, I have worked! I have worked on some truly WONDERFUL jobs, jobs that I have been very VERY lucky to be cast in. But it’s now time to take the next step into a different part of the industry.
So, I decided to audition for Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and GOT IN! 1900 people auditioned for 14 places! 7 women and 7 men! I have been offered an unconditional place (very rare) and so now I have the challenge of figuring out a way to fund it! Jeepers!
I am currently working three jobs in an attempt to earn enough but I am starting to realise there is still a little (I say 'a little' with a worried smile) that I can’t quite cover.
I started this acting adventure with my wonderful, talented father. He was a man known for his dedication and determination. He passed away 3 years ago, after battling cancer so graciously for 10 years. I can only hope that he would have been proud of me, but I still have a little more to go until I am truly proud of myself. So here I am, doing as my pops always advised, knocking on doors and asking politely.
Thank you for taking the time to read this,
Much Love, Charlotte x
