Story

That fella on the left of the photo in the blue and black kit is Martin - his humble nature belies an impressive palmarés, but you have to catch him on the road to get a story out of him about his glory days. Martin has been a cornerstone of our club for years, full of advice, knowledge and patience that he has always offered freely, and with great humour. Martin was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in February of 2017. He was due to ride the Marmotte Challenge for a second time with some friends in the summer, however was unable to go following his diagnosis. Martin's friends and cycling club mates are determined to make his life a full and happy one, and a big part of that is funderaising to help Martin and his family access equipment and services that will ensure his quality of life is comfertable and happy. In order to achieve some of this goal, 5 of us will tackle the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge on the 8th and 9th September. On Day 1 we will begin before sunrise by summiting Pen Y Fan Mountain, and then travel north to summit Cadair Idris before the sun sets. On Day 2 we will tackle the final mountain in our trio, summitting Snowdon to complete our challenge for Martin. Please help us raise money by sponsering our mountain advetures - Martin has always been most at home in the mountains so it is fitting for us that we should be challenged in his preferred terain!
