Story

I will be running 10 miles on the 4th of July to raise money for Elephant Human Relations Aid. I'm travelling to Namibia with my school in July 2018 to volunteer with EHRA and work in a primary school, improving the environment. The condition to going on this trip is that students have to raise £2,400 themselves to cover facilitating the trip and direct donations to the charity and the school. I have already raised £1900 and am looking to raise the rest. Anything extra will go as additional donations to the school or to buy clothes for the children.

EHRA track and monitor elephants in the south Kunene Region of Namibia in order to identify each one for effective conservation. They also work with local communities to protect damage by elephants to water sources but still allowing elephants to drink from them. Additionally EHRA is educating locals about elephant characteristics to avoid fear of elephants.

For the first week i will be volunteering in a local primary school which EHRA support. Previous work our school has done there includes re-building/re-decorating showers, classrooms, dormitories etc and running workshops for the school children. The second week will be spent trekking in the dessert sleeping out and working with EHRA staff.

We will also be taking lots of clothes and other useful items for the school children.

Thank you very much for anything you can give!
