Story

Tyler has always been a bubbly, confident, football mad young lad, he’s been a competitive football player from the moment he was old enough to kick a ball with a great passion for Liverpool FC. Over the last 8 months we noticed changes in Tyler, his interest and love for the things he once enjoyed started to fade alongside headaches loss of appetite and fatigue. After countless doctor appointments and blood tests, Tyler was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the beginning of April, as you can imagine, we are all absolutely devastated and heartbroken.

Tyler has now had to put his life on hold as he begins his treatment journey, starting with chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy. Despite everything he is facing his strength humour and determination has inspired everyone around him. Tyler faces this battle with courage and strength. We are so proud of him every single day. Tyler's Fightback Fund is a community fundraiser to support Tyler as he undergoes treatment. Inspired by his love for football the name Tyler’s fightback fund reflects Tyler’s courage, the team spirit around him and determination to give him every possible advantage at this fight.

Our aim is to help cover the practical costs of his journey - including traveling to appointments varying between Taunton, Bristol and London. Equipment, creating a safe, comfortable recovery space at home and some added extras to put a smile on his face when his treatment is over and can go back to doing what many teenage boys do.

Tyler’s mum has had to step back from taking care of others as a nurse associate to focus on taking care of her brave boy.

Alongside this fundraiser to directly support the family, we have already raised a significant amount of money for Young Lives Vs Cancer with a sponsored hike up Snowdon taking place in July.

To support this fundraiser for the family directly we will be holding a Football fun day at Weston super mare football club at the end of August with more details around this to follow.

Any additional funds raised will be used to support children facing cancer, through donations to childhood cancer charities and support organisations.

We believe no family should face this alone, and through football spirit, community strength, and kindness, we're standing together for Tyler.
