Story
I'm raising funds to go to Nepal in 2018, to help provide local children with the resources and facilities they need to get the education and life they deserve.
Since the 2015 Nepalese earthquakes, sadly so many areas are still unable to cope with day-to-day life with their basic infrastructure destroyed. I will be working in Pokhara with the company GVI to construct sanitation units and repair damaged primary schools in the area. With more than a third of the population living below the poverty line, Nepalese people are really suffering from a lack of hygiene, education and skilled labour. Work like this really helps to support the lives of local people with short-term and long-term goals, and I can't wait to be a part of such an amazing project!
I saved up money from birthdays, Christmas and doing chores to pay for the deposit out of my own pocket as I was so determined to go. I'm definitely nervous to go, but also really excited, and I'm so lucky to have such amazing family and friends supporting me all the way! Any donation, however small, would be hugely appreciated and would make a big difference to me and my fundraising.
