After a consultation with a specialist in Bristol on the 22/09/19 we have been told our son Noah who is 5months old will need two lots of helmet therapy to help remould his head due to a condition called postional plagiocephaly. These will cost £2050 each and will need to be ordered immediately due to the severity of Noahs head. The specialist said Noah‘s head will have a much greater success rate if done as soon as possible. Due to this having to be done so quickly we do not have the funds to make this happen so soon and is not really do-able in our situation. We are young parents and have another 3 year old son at home so money is extremely tight but I wouldn’t forgive myself if I didnt atleast try to raise the funds for him. If we dont succeed in raising the money Noah could need jaw reinlignment or end up with curvature of the spine and problems with his neck. His neck muscles are already very stiff due to his restricted movement of his head (he favours laying on the flat side). I have tried all sorts of gadets (pillows, bumbo seats, special mattress’s lots of tummy time) his head shape has gone past the point of being self corrective as hes also had this since birth which the specialist said is unusual. I would be internally grateful if you could share this long and far and even more grateful if you could donate to help us get Noah the treatment he desperately needs. The nhs will not fund this at it is deemed “cosmetic” as it does not effect the brain but if left untreated could result in Noah needing operations as he grows.
