Story
West Lothian Women's Aid is the sole charity in my local area to offer information, support and safe temporary accommodation to women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse.
Domestic abuse can be physical, emotional, psychological, financial and sexual.
This will affect one in four women and one in five children nationwide and Police Scotland’s figures (2017/18) reveal 2205 women in West Lothian alone reported a “one off” incident of domestic abuse.
The organisation provides a variety of services including but not limited to; face-to-face advice, safe accommodation, one-to-one key-worker support, follow-on support, activity programmes, professional counselling service etc.
Due to the stigma attached to domestic abuse, it can be very difficult to engage with the community and raise funds, so I would like help to raise at least £200 to go directly towards the support provided to both women and children who access the service.
Thank you for taking the time to read my page and a massive thank you in advance for donating to this cause!
