Story

I shall begin at home with my personal story. I am a single mum with four amazing girls. I work in a school for children with special needs. To start with this was 16hrs a week. This was fab still had time with children every job in house complete, life was good. I then took on a full time position. Life was good to start with, extra pennies for days out that we hadnt been able to do before. Then after a couple of months i had a letter. I owed over paid benefits (which of course i had informed council and rent about) Spiralling is an understatement!! Im in debt now.

Ihave spoken to other mums to ser how they cope working full time. Mums with partners say how amazing it is to be able to extra money. The single mums tell a different story. DEBT DEBT DEBT!! Its horendous the things some mums have to do to pay bills and keep children fed, clothed, warm and clean. Many mums dont eat. Never go out, dont drink dont smoke, one mum doesnt even buy herself tampons because she could buy a loaf of bread with that money.

I would like to start a charity to help all these mums. Just somewhere they could go to get a fiver for the electric key. 50p to buy a loaf of bread. Maybe if i can raise enough through peoples generosity, a pair of brand new school shoes or clothes for their children. Maybe in a years time I couldve raised enough money to get them out of debt so they can actually see some of their money they have earnt.

This isnt about single mums who are able to live on benefits, this is about single mums who work all the hours they can.

If you could donate just 50p that would be amazing, if you can donate more that mum living down the road just might smile and her children might just have the lfe their mum is trying so hard to give them.

Thank you,

cheree
