I've raised £5000 to help with my dad's recovery

Over a month ago I received a distress call from one of my relatives telling me that my Papa had a stroke. Half his body was paralized but I was comforted with the fact that he can still talk (although slurry) and still throwing joke like the normal happy lad that he is.
The doctors initially said an operation is not necessary. He was given loads of medication to dissolve the blood clot he had on his brain but within the same week they found out that his inflamed right brain is pushing through the left side which will eventually cause a rapture if left unoperated. We were given 20% chance of survival.
My husband managed to book me an emergency flight which was the same day of the operation. By the time I landed in the Philippines the procedure was finished and thankfully it was successful.
It took me over a day until I had the courage to visit him in ICU. Seeing my Papa unconscious with 5 tubes running through him was the most heart breaking thing I ever had to deal with. My Papa is the most active person I know and him in a coma is utterly devastating.
Apart from the emotional and mental upset, the financial side of things added burden to the already difficult situation. His daily medicine costs minimum of £70. To date the cost of
hospital bills, professional fees, operations and medicines have cost us approx £18,000 pounds and even with insurance deductions, a big chunk of this is still owed from different people.
My Papa has since showed signs of improvement lately which gives us hope he will get through this. And although we know we will never be the same again we would endeavour to try every possible way to help him regain his old self. Therapies and months of rehabilitation wont come cheap and with my credit cards all maxed out, loans left right and centre I've summoned all the courage in me to write my Papa's story and ask for help. Every penny you donate will be a lifeline towards his recovery. Please help me have my Papa back x
