What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Over a month ago I received a distress call from one of my relatives telling me that my Papa had a stroke. Half his body was paralized but I was  comforted with the fact that he can still talk (although slurry) and still throwing joke like the normal happy lad that he is.

The doctors initially said an operation is not necessary. He was given loads of medication to dissolve the blood clot he had on his brain but within the same week they found out that his inflamed right brain is pushing through the left side which will eventually cause a rapture if left unoperated. We were given 20% chance of survival.

My husband managed to book me an emergency flight which was the same day of the operation. By the time I landed in the Philippines the procedure was finished and thankfully it was successful.

It took me over a day until I had the courage to visit him in ICU. Seeing my Papa unconscious with 5 tubes running through him was the most heart breaking thing I ever had to deal with. My Papa is the most active person I know and him in a coma is utterly devastating.

Apart from the emotional and mental upset, the financial side of things added burden to the already difficult situation. His daily medicine costs minimum of £70. To date the cost of
hospital bills, professional fees, operations and medicines have cost us approx £18,000 pounds and even with insurance deductions, a big chunk of this is still owed from different people.
My Papa has since showed signs of improvement lately which gives us hope he will get through this. And although we know we will never be the same again we would endeavour to try every possible way to help him regain his old self. Therapies and months of rehabilitation wont come cheap and with my credit cards all maxed out, loans left right and centre I've summoned all the courage in me to write my Papa's story and ask for help. Every penny you donate will be a lifeline towards his recovery. Please help me have my Papa back x

I've got some amazing news, my Papa is back home and has been showing significant improvements. His doctors has also prescribed him much lower dosage meds. I've spoken to my Mama this morning and was advised that next week they will be looking into whether his tracheotomy can already be removed which is a really good sign. It's been a really tough few months but we can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. This will be the final push to my pledge. To anyone who wants to donate , just follow the link below. Thanks very much in advance.

Thanks to everyone who have been so supportive towards me and my family the past couple of months. Just a little bit of update, he's had an on and off fever since the operation which we thought was a reaction to one of his meds but the doctor has confirmed that he has an infection. He's had another load of tests due to this. He's in stable condition though so hopefully he can get discharged from the hospital soon. On a really positive note, his recent CT scan showed great improvements so please carry on praying for my Papa's recovery
