Story

Cheriton Play Area Working Group

On behalf of Cheriton Parish Council

Cheriton Parish would like to provide a Play Area that meets the needs of all children to age 11 regardless of level of ability.

One that provides a picnic area for parents, grandparents, carers and families whether living locally in Cheriton, the neighbouring parishes of Kilmeston, Tichborne and Beauworth or visiting, cycling or walking one of the many footpaths in this area of the South Downs National Park. All are welcome.

Our village includes a small local shop and Post Office, and the Flowerpots pub sells award winning ales brewed in its own micro-brewery. The Café on The Green is run by a local volunteer group and is open each Thursday morning between 09:00 and 12:00 serving hot and cold drinks, toasted tea cakes and cakes. Adult needs and wants are well served!

On behalf of Cheriton Parish Council a small group of volunteers is therefore working to serve the needs of the local and wider community by securing a Play Area for our younger people. You will find our existing Play Area located on the Village Recreation Ground adjacent to the Cricket Pitch and Cherry Trees pre-school. It is in urgent need of repair and renewal and we would welcome your support whether by contributing to our fund or by writing to us to tell us why you value our Play Area and what you would like to see happen.
