Story

Hello! I am Stephanie and, together with other volunteers, I run Colourful Margate, a small Community Group in Cliftonville, Margate/UK. We are passionate about improving our local Dane Park to make it an attractive doorstep green space for everyone in the community to enjoy.

Last year, we planted 16 cherry trees and commissioned 6 chainsaw woodcarvings, which are much beloved by young and old. This year, we don't want to stop there. We want to plant more cherry trees, create another large woodcarving and improve the children's playground.

Every Pound helps to achieve our target and improve the green space for all of us. Please join us and donate. Thank you!

Proudly presenting the new tree spirit labels for our chainsaw woodcarvings in Dane Park! The woodcarvings were created by Steven and Lee from TribalAnimal Chainsaw Carving and the labels by Ruth E Rollason! We were delighted to discover three lovely labels created by someone unknown. Awesome surprise, we love them.

Hello all, our campaign artwork by local artist Grace Attlee is out now for sale for £35 - with 100% of the proceeds going to Dane Park Project. This is a limited edition signed by the artist. The artwork is A3 (41.5x29.5cm) giclee prints on museum etching paper and can be bought at Lovelys Gallery on 248 Northdown Road, Cliftonville. Great news, Lovelys Art Gallery is also the first local business to sponsor this year’s campaign! So excited. Thank you.

We hear about Climate Change, we need to keep our parks. Tree's are important as is nature. A meadow area around the edge of the park where trees and bushes are only need to be cut back twice a year.
