Story

Coco, our cross terrier came into our lives just over 9 years ago and we have remained proud parents ever since. She is a very special dog to us and has remained my rock!
Sadly her health has deteriorated over the last 6 months and recently has become very ill.
During the last 6 weeks she has hardly eaten at all and her mobility has become very much restricted. She appears to be in great pain when being touched/moved and is not a happy dog, so sad to see when she has always been such an active, full of life creature!
After countless vet appointments with 3 local practices in the West Sussex area we finally took Coco to a reputable vet in Worthing for a third opinion. After consultation, as it was a complicated diagnosis, the vet felt that
the best way forward would be to refer her to a specialist unit.
After several conversations with the suggested referral unit we realised very quickly that our budget would not stretch very far. Coco is insured, however because the case is complex we have exhausted a lot of the insurance premium trying to diagnose what is wrong. Our suggested referral unit kindly told us to try a specialist centre in Havant and after speaking today to them was assured that the money left on our insurance premium would stretch hopefully enough to perform some necessary tests.
Coco has since been hospitalized this afternoon and will possibly undergo a CT scan and an endoscopy on her stomach area tomorrow. We have been assured by many vets that this is not the right time to put her to sleep before diagnosis has been reached.
We love Coco dearly and want to give her the best chance, however are concerned that once the relevant tests are carried out, that we may be left with no budget for treatment, if she manages to pull through this awful illness. We thank you for your time and would much appreciate any help that anyone can offer in any way.
