Story
Hello myself and my son Leo age 11 have chosen to walk the 20 mile kiltwalk this year for something extremely close to our home and hearts.
Here is our story…..
Sadly in April 2025 we lost someone close to our hearts Charlie age just 17 years old, this had a huge impact on us as a family as did it their friend groups and the wider community. 1 year later my sons friend Phoenix sadly passed away also bringing everything back to our home that we went through 1 year ago. These 2 beautiful young teenagers both lost their lives to the Tay Road bridge, we are wanting to turn our pain into power and try and make a change so there are no further deaths and try and implement preventions. As a mother of 3 I can’t ever begin to imagine the heartache that Charlie and Phoenixs families have gone through, I seen first hand the impact it had on myself and my children. Leo and I have chosen to collaborate with check your mates campaign all donations and sponsors collected for doing our 20 mile walk will go directly to this campaign! 🙏❤️
I know we are small in the grand scheme of what’s happening around us with children and young peoples mental health but at least we can say we have tried to make a change, if you can and you would like to support us sponsors can be made by cash, bank transfer or straight to the just giving link There will be daily updates on our target and full transparency of all monies collected and donated straight to check your mates campaign @roamrclothing
Our target is £1000 let’s help us smash that and beyond! 💪
