I've raised £3000 to inspire activity in young people & my community in London and to keep our children happy and active.

I've been incredibly lucky to have been given a place to run the Virgin London Marathon 2020 from The Daily Mile UK and London Marathon Events. My challenge however, is that I must use this place to inspire as many people in my local school community (and wider) in activity...
Not only must I work to inspire people to get involved in activity, I also want to raise as much money as I possibly can to help sustain this, as well as support a charity that is very close to my heart.
The Charity: Blue Smile. A small local charity to Cambridgeshire which supports the mental well being of children helping them to learn and be happy. We all know someone, and many of us have suffered from the struggles the world presents us with. This amazing charity works with children, reaching them early to help prevent difficulties when those children grow in to adults. My amazing parents have already raised over £8000 for this charity and I'd like to contribute 1/3 of my total to this charity. My aim = £1000.
The Money: I hope to be able to fund children in my school to be able to take part in the amazing Mini Mermaids/Young Tritons program. This is a GREAT running group which leads sessions for children after school over the course of a few weeks covering technique, nutrition, mental strength and results in the children completing a 5K Parkrun. I've seen SUCH a change in the children that have completed it, it's amazing! I would also love to hold a community running event for local families, schools and businesses to attend a running festival complete with stalls, warm up, activities, inspirational figures and of course, a running event of some kind.
As well as this I am determined to ensure 'The Daily Mile' is fully implemented in my school and that I've brought teachers, parents and all other stakeholders along with me. I want to improve knowledge among our families of health and exercise and spark a motivation in as many individuals as I possibly can.
I would be SO grateful of any donation, no matter how small, even £1 will make a difference to the children I work with and the pounds add up! I work with some of the most deprived children in our country and they deserve to has their eyes opened to what they can achieve, this is what I am hoping to do with my marathon place!
PS...even though it scares the living daylights out of me!! Wish me luck!! Cheska x
PPS...I'm going to finish with the CUTEST photo of me and my niece after she completed one of her first every Junior Parkruns, I think I've managed to inspire her a little, at the age of 5 she has run so many Jnr Parkruns she has run over a half marathon distance!
