Story
We’re taking on the Belfast City Marathon on Sunday 3rd May 2026, with David, Claire, Tara, Paul and Kevin lacing up their runners to raise vital funds for Chester’s Chance, in loving memory of Chester Byrne.
Chester tragically passed away from Leukaemia after a 38 day battle. He was just two years old, the beloved son of Emma & David Byrne and a precious big brother to Reuben.
Every mile we run is for Chester, and for the incredible Haematology Unit that cared for him. Through this, we hope to support other children and families facing similar journeys, helping to bring comfort, care and hope when it’s needed most.
Chester’s Chance is a charity dedicated to providing much-needed support to families and young patients of the Haematology Ward at the Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children, while lovingly remembering Chester Byrne, forever two.
Inspired by Chester’s strength and the love he brought to everyone who knew him, we honour his memory through meaningful acts of kindness. Through thoughtful gifts and vital funding, we aim to bring comfort, ease financial pressures, and brighten the days of children undergoing treatment and their families. Chester’s legacy lives on in every smile we help create and every family we support.
Your support, no matter how big or small, truly means everything.
