Story
Last week a huge fire gutted the Monsoon Forest Enclosure, part of the Islands at Chester zoo. This was the largest indoor Habitat and housed many rare breeds and endangered species. Although many mammals survived, sadly small birds, frogs, insects and fish were killed in the fire- which was thought to be an accident.
This is a huge set back to Chester Zoo and to the islands which were only completed in 2015 at great cost. The zoo is not just an attraction but also part of an endangered species breeding scheme and is responsible for rehoming animals no longer able to live in the wild . It's also home to animals that have been rescued and does some of the best work for animals globally. Please help add to these funds to rebuild the Monsoon Forest enclosure as soon as possible.
