I've raised £200 to purchase seeds and tools for local schools' allotment projects run by Chestnut Community Events (charity number 1141037)

Chestnut Community Events is a great local charity that I have been involved with for nine years: as a teacher, whose pupils benefitted from their very first Seed-to-Soup project; as a film maker, shooting Disability Awareness DVDs for them; and as a trustee, since they achieved charitable status in 2011.
I will be taking part in the Lancaster Half Marathon in November, to try and raise enough money to buy a year's worth of seeds and gardening equipment. This will help many more children learn about where their food comes from and inspire them to grow their own.
Running the Half Marathon is part of return to fitness for me. I've run the Great North Run four times, the last time being in 2007, and planned to get up to that standard again last year. Unfortunately though, in April 2016, I broke my foot while running to help a neighbour. It took several months before I could even walk properly again without pain. But, this year, I'm determined to complete the Lancaster Half Marathon in a personal best time, and raise funds for Chestnut Community Events along the way.
Any donations made here go directly in to the charity's bank account.
