Weʼre raising £1,000 to Help the victims of cyclone Idai in Malawi

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

As you will have seen in the news, Southern Africa is currently in crisis following the decimating impact of Cyclone Idai. One of the areas severely affected (Chikwawa in Malawi) is a place that myself and a number of other volunteers from across the globe have been lucky enough to call home.

An area I remember for its vibrancy, positivity and spirit is now in a state of desperation. The people who welcomed us with open arms have lost their homes, and with many still cut off from receiving aid, the number of fatalities continues to rise. For those who have survived the immediate impact comes the threat of waterborne diseases such as Cholera, not to mention a future with no harvest or accessible food source.

Cyclone Idai has evoked a huge international response - but this is a more personal appeal. Working directly with Development Initiative Network (DIN) in Chikwawa, we are aiming to raise £1000 to provide short term food relief, medical care and recovery support to a community close to our hearts.

All donations will be sent directly to Development Initiative Network in Chikwawa who will send regular updates to myself, so that you can see how your money is making a difference.

Please help us to rebuild the lives of those enduring the most deadly effects of climate change.
