Story

I am the parent of two amazing adopted boys under 5.
I am part of a network of other parents of children who are effected by trauma. Our children don't have secure attachments, they may have been exposed to abuse or trauma in the womb or in their early lives. They have often experienced things as adults we couldn't even imagine.

This has shaped their brains and how they see the world.

We as their parents are trying our hardest to help them heal. However they can struggle with the world around them ! They often feel 'different' around children with secure attachments and often can not cope and behave in ways accepted by society when out and about.

As parents we often feel alienated, like our child is the only one not enjoying the event/attraction and lots of the parents avoid going out or to 'nice things'.

The first time we got the children together they actually coped well. It made me cry, it was as though they recognised things in one another that allowed them for the first time to feel connected to another child.

This crowd fund is to raise a pot of money to support these families. The money will be spent on activities and events to enable parents of traumatised children to attend and not worry about what their child can break or who they may hurt or even how scared they may be.
Events for children who can not 'cope' amongst their peers who don't struggle witg the noise or crowds. Events for therapeutic parents to not feel alone anymore.

Any additional money raised will continue to be spent to benefit the parents and children in the network to attend.
