I've raised £500 to help fund mental health placement in Sri Lanka

In September I will be travelling to Sri Lanka for a 4-week Psychology placement.
To raise money for my trip I will be running the Birmingham 10k on 26th May (in hopefully under an hour!) so any sponsors would be greatly appreciated. If you're particularly interested in what I will be doing and what the money is for I've attempted to outline below.
A 25-year civil war and the 2004 Tsunami has taken a particular toll on the psychological well being of individuals in Sri Lanka which is not helped by a lack of resources available to mental health services. SLV are a company aiming to have a positive impact on the lives of Sri Lankan individuals by increasing resources, reducing stigma surrounding mental health and increasing self-esteem. During my 4-week placement with SLV I will take part in a variety of projects each week with people of different ages and different degrees of difficulty all with the aim of assisting recovery and promoting positive well being in communities!
Any money raised will go towards funding my trip including travel, training, accommodation and running activities.
I am extremely lucky to have this opportunity which will provide me with amazing work experience in the mental-health sector, as well as contributing to long-term improvement in the mental health of a country in need.
Thanks for taking the time to read this! Chloe :-) x
