Story
As some of you may know, I am currently studying to become a nurse and I have been chosen to represent my university to undertake an elective placement in Fort Portal, Uganda in Africa. I will be travelling with a charity called Knowledge For Change (K4C) and volunteering as a student nurse for a month. I will be based in large urban hospitals, operating theatres, maternity centres, small rural health centres and community outreach programmes to get an insight into healthcare in a third world country. This trip is something I am greatly looking forward to and costs around £1500 per student which includes a generous donation to the K4C charity. This is to support the healthcare professionals and facilities in Uganda by improving their skills and improving better and safer practice.
By the end of my 4 week placement I am hoping to of positively impacted the community whilst positively representing my university and K4C. Experiencing this trip will be highly beneficial for my future development as a nurse and even for myself as an individual. We all forget how lucky we are to have the NHS and this will be a fantastic opportunity for myself to experience something completely out my comfort zone.
I am so excited to of been chosen for this trip and with your generous donations I am asking to please raise £500 to put towards and help me get out to Uganda and support the charity to make a change. Any donation big or small is hugely appreciated. Thank you all so much for helping me get towards my target and enabling me to fulfil one of my dreams and expand my nursing knowledge❤️👩⚕️💉🏥
