one day I was walking through the centre of Bradford with my partner, when we stumbled across the cutest dog I have ever seen. A bulldog crossed with a boxer who name was doser. He had a jacket on with holes and rips everywhere, lying on a threadbare blanket. His owner was a man in his late 30s, who looked unkept and frozen to the core. Half of his face was covered in facial hair and clothes that had not been changed for years. This man went by the name of "rocky."

I work with homeless people in my job, so when I saw this man and his poor dog it broke my heart. So I started going down to the centre of Bradford, where I would see him and doser sat in the same place. The more we saw him, the more we learned about his story, and how he had become homeless.

Rocky had not always been homeless. 3 years ago he had a loving girlfriend and a little boy. He had his own gardening and house moving business, with all the equipment. However, it all went pear shaped and suddenly he found himself on the street, with the dog, which was just a pup. He was allowed to stay at his friends houses, on the sofa, but they wouldn't allow the dog to stay.

There was a low point where rocky tried to kill himself, and the dog stopped him, by jumping on him. Their bond has been concrete ever since. This man pays for the dog treatment, before he feeds himself. You see living in the streets leaves you open to all kinds of vermin, from rats biting you, to standing on used needles like doser did. He could have caught HIV, so rocky paid for him to get tested after months of saving up from His begging change.

Everytime me and my partner see rocky we always buy him food, drink and the dog food. Yesterday I bought him 20 pairs of socks because he can't wash anything, so he been wearing the same pair for months. Imagine not even being able to wash your own clothes and having to sleep on a piece cardboard? It breaks my heart.

I know there is loads of homeless people around, and rocky is one of 1000s. But the thing that makes me want to help this man is the fact that he has been on drugs and drink, when he was first made homeless. But he got CLEAN. He went to a drug and alcohol service that help you to get clean and he has been clean for a couple of years. That takes a strong dedicated person. I really want to help him but I can't do it on my own.

He wants to start his own gardening business up, so he going to get some gardening tools off a friend and do favours for people. A landlord has said he will take rocky and doser in if rocky can give him a £200 bond. No other landlord will accept a dog. This could be the breakthrough rocky and doser need. PLEASE HELP.
