I've raised £5000 to help Karl

Five weeks ago our good friend Karl called Primary Care with what felt like numbness in his hands and feet. Only a few days later after Karl began to experience more symptoms, he found himself in Critical Care paralysed from the neck down. Karl had been diagnosed with a devastating virus called Guillain-Barre syndrome or GBS.
GBS is a rare but very serious autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks healthy nerve cells in your nervous system. This leads to weakness, numbness, tingling and in most severe cases like Karls paralysis.
Karl is unable to breathe on his own and has been put on life support. Karl has also lost the ability to speak and is having to mouth words to friends and family to be understood.
Karl has a long road to recovery and is going to have to learn to talk, walk and other basic functions again. From researching this syndrome following the acute phase, Karl is going to require intensive rehabilitation with the help of a multidisciplinary team to focus on improving activities of daily living. This is were we can help to give Karl the best chance of a speedy recovery so that he can return home to his family and friends.
All donations raised will go towards the extensive physio that Karl is going to need.
Thank you in advance for any donations given to help.
