My name is chloe wilkes and I'm 26 years old. I have a condition called transverse myelitis and I have a tracheostomy and ventilator to help me to breathe and I am paralysed from the shoulders down c2

This is my story.

I was born a normal child then at the age of 2 I was attacked by a virus found on my back my mum taken me to the drs and they said it was just a virus and it would go in a week, the week came and the virus had gotten worse and I was throwing up and turning blue etc and I was rushed to hospital having multiple scans etc to try find out what was wrong with me and I had 24hrs to live and I had to have a tracheostomy put in my neck and a ventilator because I couldn't breathe on my own and I was in hospital over 2 years and then went home. When I was 14/15 u realised that I needed an adapted wheelchair to do things ie concerts etc but I need to fundraise it now till this day and the wheelchair I need costs £30.000 and also I would like to full fill my dream to become a mum and I would need to adapt things like a cot a pushchair/pram etc to help me become more independent, I need this chair to help me with my back, hips shoulders etc as I suffer with scoliosis and I also have rodes in my back this chair is getting small that I have and in need of a new but unfortunately I have to go private to get a new one as the nhs one doesn't support me properly nor my shoulder as it's dislocated. This will help give me some freedom and to be more independent
