I've raised £1000 to Chloe Mcdaid’s Memorial Rainbow Bench.

Our friend Chloe Mcdaid passed away suddenly a few weeks ago on the 2/07/2019 due to losing her battle to mental health, Chloe left behind an 8 month old baby girl, broken hearted parents and truly devastated friends and family. Chloe turned 25 on the 15th of August just a few weeks after she passed away. To mark the occasion her friends arranged a family fun day in Chloes name as we wanted to try and raise as much awareness and money as we could to try and make a difference so nobody else has to feel how chloe felt or how we feel at the moment. We raised £3900 and split it between teo mental health charities. ’the door centre’ and ’papyrus‘.
we are now looking at raising money to purchase a memorial bench with a plaque in chloes name on new Brighton promenade. We would like to make the bench distinctive with bright coloured cards attached with colourful ribbons with messages of hope, positive quotes and telephone numbers of charities so if somebody is feeling in a similar situation or having personal issues and see’s the bench it could hopefully brighten somebody’s day like Chloe brightened ours. We hope the bench could be used to encourage people to sit down and lend an ear to anybody sitting alone on the bench, or even for somebody to sit and think of a loved one they have lost to mental health. I believe we have a mental health crisis at the moment and too many people are loosing there lives. The bench is something so little but i think if it raises awareness and brightens somebody’s day it could be massive to them to sit and read the messages that it’s ok not to be ok. Tomorrow is a new day, there are people who care! There is somebody who will listen, don’t give up.
we would really appreciate any donation no matter how little it is!
