Story

We are again supporting the chocolate orange challenge in the South Yorkshire area this year, to give back and say thank you to those that work tirelessly looking after us and our loved ones.

We will be collecting chocolate oranges at both mine and Jason's places of work so at Westfield House on Charter Row, and Kings Court on Hanover Way from next week. Alongside building up towers of actual chocolate oranges we have set up this page for those who would rather make a monetary donation and then we will purchase the chocolate oranges in bulk.

In December 2023 we delivered around 600chocolate oranges to Sheffield Children's Hospital for both the Oncology Ward in memory of Jude Mellon-Jameson and those working on Christmas Day and St Luke's Hospice.

We are always overwhelmed by peoples generosity each year and it is a real privilege to then be able to deliver this small token of thanks just before Christmas. We are more aware than ever that people are struggling with the cost of living etc so any donations will be appreciated more than ever.

If you haven't seen our previous fundraising efforts here is a little background.

The campaign was started by our friend Chris Lamb, after losing his son Elliott at Christmas in 2010. To date over 130,000 have been donated and delivered across the UK. Chris explains what it means to him below:

“After I lost Elliott, I didn’t know how to rebuild my life but through the love and support of my family, friends and even strangers, I was shown kindness and compassion that money just can’t buy. That’s why I set up the chocolate orange challenge after initially planning to do it just once on his anniversary the following year. Turning all that incredible sadness into something positive fills my heart with hope each year that there is life after loss”
