Story
Hair today gone tomorrow;
To raise money for this incredible event I will be making the chop to donate my hair to the Little Princess Trust who make real hair wigs for little Boys and Girls who have lost their hair. I will be donating just over 30cm of hair to this incredible cause to give the most amount of hair I can for the wig. The money raised from donating my hair will go towards funding my trip to the 24th World Scout Jamboree.
The World Scout Jamboree, WSJ, is a global gathering of scouts from all over the world, connecting people from 169 countries together. Every four years the WSJ is ran to develop young people and give them the adventure of a lifetime. The aims of the UK is to create a youth shaped experience which will have a positive impact to not only the Jamboree but into the wider scouting movement and beyond into the participants lives.
I am extremely grateful to have been selected to volunteer as part of the UK Contingent International Support Team and attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia in 2019.
Here is a little more about the Jamboree;
As part of the International Service Team, we live and work alongside fellow Scouts from nearly every country in the world as they support the 35,000 young people attending the event, including 3,600 young people from the UK. As well as offering a unique international adventure, the UK Contingent is committed to championing youth engagement and to ensuring that each and every member of the Contingent develops personally as a result of their Jamboree experience. As well as giving up our time as a volunteer, I need to raise £2995 to attend the Jamboree.
I would be extremely grateful for your support towards my fundraising efforts.
