    Story

Paul Rees is completing a 22 day cycle to and from work / home which totals 1300miles and is equivalent to cycling from Cheshire to Rome (Italy) to raise money for Chris's garage conversion.

    Chris's story:

During Ironman UK 2015 I had 2miles left on the run when I suffered electric shock pain in my spine and my right leg gave way and I fell to the ground and I could no longer run. I was devastated.

After the event I was admitted to hospital for 5 weeks and finally diagnosed with Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis and functional neurological disorder. (I suffer from severe electric shocks down my spine continuously and no feeling function in my right leg) I have also had 5 additional spells of approx 1 x week in hospital for dealing with the seizures / episodes that I suffer due to the electric pains that shoot down my spine every minute of every day

Since my diagnosis I am in a wheelchair for the majority of the time. This has devastated not only myself but my wife Katie and my young children Katie 12yrs and Matilda 3yrs. They have found it hard to adapt

Katie now has to get me out of bed undresses my bottom half and then struggles lifting me In the shower and onto the shower seat. I am now having problems with getting around the house due to the design.

I have been in a very bad place since the diagnosis and if it wasn't for my wife and children I don't know what I could have done due to living with constant pain of approximately 7/8 out of 10.

I find this very hard to accept. I FEEL THAT MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS HAS DESTROYED MY LIFE.

I have had a home assessment and it was determined that I will potentially be fully wheelchair bound within 5-10yrs it has been decided that my garage and downstairs toilet need to be totally converted into a bedroom and wet room with a ceiling track for me with an entrance door for me to enter the house on my wheelchair.

The conversion is going to cost a great deal of money.

Please go to www.itsonly2letters.com for a full update of the charity ride and How Paul is doing. I think at halfway in now over 600miles he is resigned to the fact that his arse may never recover
