Story

Last year I had the pleasure to cycle 300 miles from North Wales to Withybush hospital on a tandem bike with my best mate Simon Rossiter, and his cancer nurse Jan Bowen. Jan organised the event to raise money for the cancer unit she works on, the Withybush Cancer Chemotherapy unit. Later that year Simon, Jan and I completed the 45 mile Long Course Weekend bike challenge in fancy dress (see pictures above). Jan is an inspiration, she and her team of nurses deserve medals for the excellent work and care they provide so I decided this year I would try and help them by raising some funds for the unit.

I intend to complete the TenFoot swim, a 3 mile endurance sea swim from Tenby to Saundersfoot, the Caldy swim, a 2.5 mile endurance sea swim from Caldy Island to Tenby and finally Iron Man Wales, a 2.4 mile sea swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride and finally to finish a 26.2 mile run.

Now I hate swimming, I really, really hate it, especially training in the swimming pool, every time I finish for the next 48 hrs I have the worst manful symptoms in the universe due to a reaction to the chlorine and I have goggle marks on my face that last all day making me look like I belong in Billy Smarts Freak circus. As for sea swimming, I am scared of and absolutely hate Jelly fish, seriously they have more of a back bone than I do, I am seriously convinced they chase and follow me, laughing as they look up to watch me screaming face down in the water. To encourage me to complete the events so I raise funds for the Withybusy Hospital Cancer Chemotherapy unit I have set up this page, any affordable sponsorship donation you can provide is gratefully received.

Many thanks in advance, Chris
