The political situation in Zimbabwe was terrible. The opposition the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) were being beaten or tortured by Zanu PF. I was under threat because I was in the MDC. I was a teacher. Teachers and pupils were forced to be “For or against you” Everybody was under threat. I was beaten at my house for being an MDC supporter. My father sponsored me to come here. The MDC was formed in 1999 and I came here in 2007. Things were very bad at the time. The Home Office has not accepted my case. My wife left me in 2008 and went back to Zimbabwe look after the children as her mother who was caring for them had a stroke. She formed a relationship with another man. I met a woman in this country and we have two children. The Home Office only gave me a card to allow me to work for one year. It was terminated when I lost my case. I get nothing from NASS. I am still a member of the MDC. If I return to Zimbabwe I will be persecuted because ZANU PF are still in power. There has only been a change of leader in Zimbabwe
