Story

At the beginning of 2017 my wife found out she was pregnant. We had been trying g for a 3rd child for a number of months. She is in her mid 40's and is type 1 diabetic and had almost given up hipe of her conceiving again. When we found out we were overjoyed. We paid privately for test to see if everything was ok with the baby given my wife age and health and the time it took to conceive. The test came back with better results than we had hoped for and also told us it was a boy (we have 2 girls already). Given the news we decided that 3 was enough and that I should have a vasectomy. The doctors agreed and it went ahead when my wife was around 9 weeks pregnant. At 18 weeks we found out our boy would be unlikely to live through birth if he made it that far. The test we paid for had a 99.9% accuracy rate but we were the 0.1% that got wrong results. At 24 weeks our boys heart stopped beating. We were obviously devastated but had to be positive for our girls. Over the months since we have come to realise that we should've waited until he was born to have the vasectomy, but also that the doctors should've suggested this. They had said it was none reversible through NHS but failed to give proper counselling before going ahead. There was no risk of getting pregnant if she already was. With time came healing but love we still need to share. Nothing can replace what we have lost but something can share in what we have. Having a reversal means we don't have to live the rest of our lives with a 'what if' overhanging us. Any donations would mean more than the world to us, it could mean life.
