Story

What am I doing?

I will be running 10km a day from 1st to 25th December. I have chosen running as that will mean that I will have to embrace the Great British winter without choice. It is only fair of me to do so as I am looking to support those who do not have a choice, nor the shelter of a warm home each night.

Why?

At the last law firm I worked at we ran a feed the homeless campaign throughout December, cooking and feeding the rough sleepers in Eastbourne. Lending an ear and giving empathy as well as a hot meal felt like such a small thing to me but of great comfort to them. I wanted to continue this and raise as much as I can to support the work of The Matthew 25 Mission.

The Matthew 25 Mission

With open hearts, they tackle physical, emotional, and social needs, spreading kindness and compassion.

The charity takes its title from a verse in Matthew’s gospel which captures our ethos as whatever difficulties someone is facing, the staff and volunteers of the Matthew 25 Mission are there for them. Founded on Christian values, the charity has an inclusive culture and welcomes anyone of any faith, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.

What would donations go towards?

Your donations will help the charity provide hot meals to the most needed from their Hub at Brodie Hall twice a day, 365 days a year (including Christmas). With increasing demand the charity is in real need of support.
