Story

On Monday 18th September at 10.10pm, Chris Hood was almost home after a long 12 hour shift at work. As Chris crossed Brays Road to get to his house, a light coloured Astra, travelling at around 70mph, collided with Chris and failed to stop.

Chris suffered extensive damage to multiple organs, cuts to his head and on Wednesday the 20th his lower left leg was unable to be saved and was amputated. It is a miracle that Chris survived the collision, but he did survive, and we want to do everything we can to help Chris recover from the accident.

The aim of this page is to raise £20,000 towards a top of the range prosthetic leg that is not available from the NHS. Chris walks and cycles everywhere and is hugely active; just a few weeks ago Chris completed a gruelling 12 mile Tough Mudder obstacle course. Having a state of the art prosthetic leg will mean that he can keep up with the lifestyle that he is so used to and will help make his transition into life with a prosthetic that little bit easier.

Chris is a funny and caring man and an amazing father to a beautiful 9 year old daughter, he is loved dearly by his family, friends and everyone who knows him. Please donate and help Chris get the prosthetic he deserves.
