Story
Last November, following a discussion at the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows in Bognor, people became aware of the need to offer a Sunday 'breakfast service' for the homeless and vulnerably housed members of our community. This service became available in January 2018 and since the beginning of the year the numbers using the service have steadily increased. During the winter's coldest period, up to twenty people were seeking warmth, shelter and food from our parish.
During our first three months, we have received many donations of food and many people have donated their time to serve those in need. In this way the parish has provided not just words or talk, but something real and active. One of the many volunteers for this project was Chris Norris and his wife Wanda. Chris will be running the Bognor 10K to raise funds for the 'Sunday breakfast for the homeless' project. Hopefully the funds raised will enable it to continue to grow and furthermore be of value to those in need in our local community.
