I am 28 and suffer from Cerebral Palsy, my care is currently overbudget. Getting this bed would increase my level of independence, as well as bring my care back in budget.

I used to live with my mum and nan. I now live with my mum , as nan passed away. It isn't right that my mum, who has helped me all my life, should be left stuck in such a difficult situation.

Also, as a young man I want my freedom. While mobility assistance has its price, freedom and a dignified life is priceless.

With two university degrees, I aspire to get a job in media as a radio presenter and be part of, and contribute to the community I live in. But, I cannot do that if I cannot do something as simple as getting up and out of bed in a morning.

UPDATE: Derbyshire county council have since agreed to pay for the bed. The money will go to servicing the bed and altering the bedroom for the new equipment
