On the 16th of August a small group of volunteers will be organising an event in Glenmore park, Shepshed to honour the "Forgotten Army": British, Commonwealth, and Allied troops—including millions from India, Africa, and other nations—battled harsh conditions in the Far East. Because their efforts were often overshadowed by the war in Europe, celebrating VJ Day ensures the sacrifices of these service personnel are recognized.
