I've raised £1400 to Help fund equipment for a new hospital in Sachibondu, Zambia.

Sachibondu is a small village in Zambia. Their rural health clinic has been serving thousands of people for over 40 years. Many people cross over the border of Congo travelling 8-10 hours to reach the clinic. This clinic is now being rebuilt and will be able to gain hospital status which is wonderful news for the surrounding communities. There are plans to have a theatre where various surgeries can be carried out. Up until now patients have to be sent onto other hospitals which is always a long and bumpy ride as the clinic has not had the means to treat them. With hospital status, patients will be looked after and treated right there and it will change thousands of lives. The hospital build is nearly finished but they don't have any equipment to put in it yet! They desperately need the finances for new beds, hospital furniture, theatre equipment and in particular a new standing weighing scale is needed as well as a large angle poised spotlight lamp for the maternity ward. I hope to help with this through my running!
